I hope you've had a great start to 2012! After the singles from "Tonight The Angels", I thought I'd slow down a bit before diving into the next full length album. So I've decided to work on a few short projects in the meantime, the first of which comes out tomorrow. Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" has always captivated my imagination, and I've always wanted to set it to music. So the latest Haberdashery release is just that - an electropop adaptation of the poem. It turned out to be quite a curiosity, not really just a song and not simply a reading of the poem, but what I hope to be an experience of Poe's work in a different light. I hope you like it!
There are also two remixes included in the EP, by lost robot and markymix, which both give two very different interpretations of the concept. A video showcasing Gustave Doré's original illustrations for the poem can be seen on the Haberdashery youtube channel. The mysterious cover art was done by Beth Pearlman, and can be seen in greater detail in the Gallery section of haberdasheryinfo.com.
"The Raven" was first published 1845, and so to commemorate it's anniversary, 167 CDs have been made in a limited edition release, available starting tomorrow. (But for you, today!) The details can be found on the Haberdashery website.
I hope you've been doing well!
